During THESE DIFFICULT ECONOMIC TIMES more and more people are in need of assistance for the basic necessities of food, clothing and personal items. This is extremely taxing, considering that fewer people HAVE MONEY TO PART WITH, no matter how worthy the cause. In the past six months alone the number of individuals and families that have come TO Friends of Forgotten Children has nearly tripled, and OUR expectation is that WE WILL SEE THAT TREND CONTINUE. As THE largest food pantry IN THE GREATER CONCORD AREA we have distributed over 107,000 meals in the past calendar year, a number that would not be possible without the generous support of organizations such as Associated Grocers of Pembroke.
On Wednesday, February eighteenth a group FROM ASSOCIATED GROCERS CAME TO US at 224 Bog Road in Concord FOR A TOUR OF OUR FACILITY AND TO PRESENT US WITH A CHECK FROM the Community Giving Pool OF the employees of Associated Grocers. Friends of Forgotten Children was given $3000 to help support our mission of giving a hand up, rather than a hand out. We would like to thank the employees of Associated Grocers for their generous and continued support. Without organizations like this, we WOULD NOT BE ABLE to bring help to those in our community WHO ARE facing hard times. Their GENEROUS GIFT will allow us to feed and clothe many of our neighbors, and also allow us to continue with our new educational programs and family activities. This MOST GENEROUS gift OF SUPPORT will ENABLE US TO help strengthen families, and the community around us. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, employees of Associated Grocers.
